I currently lead Granicus’ digital services consultancy in the UK, Granicus Experience Group (GXG). GXG works exclusively with the public sector to create seamless customer experiences that enable people to access the services they need, simply and efficiently, improving communities and society at large. At Granicus my primary focus is to help organisations to take a more human-centred approach to digital transformation, which focuses on solving problems and providing solutions to improve people’s outcomes. Aka connecting citizens and government to make the world a better place! In my previous role, in charge of Bang the Table in the UK I was responsible for making EngagementHQ the number one online engagement platform in the UK Market and transforming the approach to community engagement and public consultation in the UK. Before joining Bang the Table full time I was a co-founder of Participate UK. Established in 2007, it was the UK's original public participation agency and the hub of all good things to do with stakeholder engagement and public consultation. Prior to this, I spent several years working as a Research Director, for BMG Research, pollster and leading independent provider of market research services to the public and social sector. At BMG Research I managed large scale research projects for the public sector and was in charge of growing key segments in the UK. Before this, I did my public service, woking in local government at Birmingham City Council, where I also undertook an MBA programme at Birmingham University's Institute of Local Government Studies . I am an expert in all aspects of citizen experience and customer engagement. I also have a passion for digital participation and using technology to improve the workings of the public sphere. I am not necessarily a 'techy' but I do worry about how social media has disrupted the public discourse and think technology is part of the remedy.
