Manufacturing Operations/It Specialist
CurrentIn my position, I bridge the gap between manufacturing operations and software, using my knowledge of both industrial engineering and computer science to serve the technological needs of GM’s manufacturing facilities.● Main operations owner of two critical cloud foundry manufacturing applications, involving trace data and vehicle quality, and key person for General Motors’ central order management application at three plants● Utilized DMAIC approach to identify vulnerability in transmission of JIT trace data at Arlington assembly plant, leading to setup of backup communication channel, providing means of transmission during network outages and preventing plant from stopping production; this was fully utilized when network outages affected plant for one full day● Utilized DMAIC approach to identify Linux labelling system processes crashing due to excess files, implementing measures to regularly clear unused files, increasing available filesystem space by 80% and reducing frequency of labelling system crashes● Oversaw deployment of new builds for order management software, using pipelines in Azure DevOps Server to push database changes across 10 manufacturing sites, enabling assembly plants to hold more unfinished orders in their systems during midst of semiconductor shortage● Participated in four hackathons; developed Android app that plans routes and provides points of interest accounting for electric vehicle mileage and charging station availability; also developed AI chatbot based on Llama 3, with django-based web framework, to answer queries based on part and component data.
