I am a software engineer with an interesting path to reach where I am today. I have worked a large amount of my beginning professional life as a salesman, office manager, and a database administrator for a classical instrument store where we sold and rented violins. It was there I learned the value of good soft skills with both customers and coworkers that would prove valuable in tech. I soon discovered the excitement of coding and chose to pursue becoming a developer. I did so by going back to school to get my degree in CS. I learned many skills and languages to equip myself to be a software engineer and am always hungering to learn more.I enjoy being a problem-solver in a team environment with multiple stakeholders. II spent nearly 4 years at Intuit where we got to utilize the React and Redux libraries for JavaScript. There I got much exposure to GraphQL to work with APIs from a Java back-end at Intuit. I also put in a bit of effort to learn Swift for a bit of iOS development in the hopes to be a cross-platform UI engineer. More than anything, the collaborative aspect of engineering is my biggest focus. I firmly believe that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. "Teamwork makes the dream work!" was a common saying that my teammates would hear from me. Teamwork, to me, goes beyond work. Getting to know your teammates at an interpersonal level helps develop camaraderie as well as productivity at work. Seeing your coworkers makes work a joy. In addition, I not only love seeing myself grow, but others around me as well. I partake in mentorship as both a mentor and mentee in both my professional and personal life.Outside of tech, I would say I am an apt violin player and have played in several youth and amateur orchestras as both a member and as a soloist. I'm a huge board-game enthusiast and used to greatly enjoy playing soccer but due to injuries focus mostly on cycling and golf. I'm an extremely avid table tennis player and people can sometimes identify me as the 2011 and 2013 NorCal Korean Table Tennis Singles Champion.
