Currently I'm the Senior Instructional Designer for Altec Industries where I work with an outstanding team creating training courses that are 72% less likely to cause sleep paralysis in learners. Before venturing into the corporate world where I've been now for seven years, I taught English/Literature at the secondary and post-secondary levels - an experience that allowed me the opportunity to do things like use Nas lyrics to teach meter in poetry. When I'm not instructionally designing, I'm a mercenary writer/editor assisting individuals/corporations with everything from resume triage to marketing copy to speechwriting and communications. I've also freelanced as an arts/entertainment journalist with articles in Rolling Stone, NPR, Salon, SPIN, The A.V. Club, and others. Everything I create is driven by a belief in the power of the conversation, regardless of medium, topic, or industry. Whatever success I've had so far as a writer, educator, or designer has come by way of understanding that everyone wants to be wanted and heard.
