Businesses in each of these economies are now adopting Integrated Reporting, the purpose of which is to bring about lasting change to capital markets by encouraging long-term behaviour brought about by a better understanding about how value is created, managed and measured. I have a particular interest in how businesses ultilise the full range of resources available to them - particularly human and intellectual capital - to create long-term value and communicate this to investors and other stakeholders in a way that is connected to their strategy and performance. This is the best route to creating long-term financial value for the beneficiaries of investment - from shareholders through to employees, customers and pension fund savers.Organizations as diverse and prestigious as the World Bank, Microsoft, HSBC and Tata Steel are embedding the principles of Integrated Reporting in their own organizations. I was responsible for public affairs, policy, media relations, brand and marketing. The IIRC is a coalition of international business, investor and accounting communities. It released a framework in 2013 that enables companies to report in a more informative way, aligning strategy to long-term performance.
