I participate in Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) algorithm testing and development. I solve challenging problems in fluids research using a high order method developed by my major professor Dr. Aaron Katz called Flux Correction. I focus on how source terms effect the accuracy of solutions and the order of accuracy of convergence. I am currently working on a presentation and a paper for an AIAA conference this January (53rd AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting, AIAA Science and Technology Forum 2015).
Worked with the Scientific Methods group in developing features in internal programs such as FemBuilder. Used Scrum tactics as a team to quickly address issues as well as continue program development. Tasks included implementing new features to observe inserted flaws in a finite element model, problem solving code issues, parallel computing, testing procedures, and validation and verification tests. Used knowledge in C++ and Python programming languages.
Built my Sr. Design project for Aggie Air, as well as participated in current research projects on the UASs (Unmanned Aerial Systems). Lead draft engineer for UASs and other structures used by Aggie Air. Build UASs out of composite materials such as Carbon, Kevlar, and Carbon Kevlar hybrid. Observed and measured vibrations in the UASs and developed methods to minimize vibrations that reduce image quality. Designed and developed payload systems to hold NIR, Thermo, and standard cameras. Participated on several data acquiring missions to observe plant growth, soil make-up, and water consumption in fields.
Aided in the design of the LADEE mission and the Minotar V launch vehicle. Worked specifically for DI&T (Design, Integration, and Testing) in the Launch Systems Group in Chandler Arizona. Aided in the testing of flight components, wrote analysis on multiple flight components, wrote a dynamic separation program to observe effects if failure occurred, wrote a work order for the production of flight components, attended meetings and worked in an engineering team environment.
Lead quality manager, aided in construction and installation of cabinetry in both residential and commercial buildings. Developed mastery of many machining techniques and skills, including a CNC.
