While working in multi-national businesses, start-up businesses, churches and charities my experiences have included founding teams for these organisations. This job involved selling to consumers from all walks of life, both in New Zealand and in Australia. I had to move prospects from enquiry to purchase in one conversation – using only my voice over the telephone. I achieved consistently solid results: always in the upper quartile for sales revenue, good conversion and full payment ratios, excellent upsell ratio (I won an individual upsell competition and contributed to my team winning a team upsell competition). In this role I had to think on my feet and learn quickly. I had to follow instructions (so that the effects of new sales methodologies could be measured), while adapting to the needs and personality of each customer. As a sales rep I was a good listener and skilled at building rapport with prospects. I would go the extra mile to find out information for customers and come up with creative solutions when needed. Despite an aggressive focus on bringing in revenue, I generated high customer satisfaction, with one customer praising me to my supervisor and even saying they wished they were like me. -
Beekeeper'S AssistantWhai Hua Bees Dec 2013 - Jan 2014WhakataneI was employed at the busiest time of the season to assist with a variety of practical tasks involved in looking after bee hives, harvesting honey, cleaning equipment for the field and extraction plant in the ‘honey house’. The manual labour included some heavy lifting, driving utes on farm terrain, and a willingness to work night shifts and long shifts as required. This role involved working unsupervised at times, as well as working in small teams. Besides learning by asking questions, this role also called for awareness and proactivity; understanding and solving small practical problems encountered on the field, as well as thinking of ways to make tasks for efficient.

Co-Founder And National Director Of Cambridge Campus BranchCampus Link Foundation Mar 2013 - Aug 2013AucklandCampus Link Foundation provides intensive 2-day courses in high school subjects to pivot students’ grades. I led the development and launch of the Cambridge Campus branch of this charity, which I did as a volunteer. I developed the systems to run the operation, as well as headhunted, recruited and trained the Tutors, and coordinated the development of workbooks that cover the entire syllabus of each subject. I did the administration tasks throughout the running of the programme, though a colleague shared the initial administration tasks when the workload peaked. I coordinated with stakeholders and professionals that were donating services to the charity. Besides this volunteer role, I also worked for the charity as a Tutor (doing the second greatest number of courses) and also developed a workbook for Cambridge A2 Literature.

Youth WorkerForrest Hill Presbyterian Church Feb 2012 - Jan 2013North ShoreWhile still studying full time, I was employed to lead a team of volunteers to create programmes for and proactively build relationships with youth. My co-Youth Worker and I started from scratch and identified and recruited our team of volunteers to help us in the work. Our main work involved organising all aspects of a weekly youth night, (including preparing games, music, supper, and preparing Biblical teaching from scratch etc.) as well as fortnightly social events and special events like a road trip. Besides the youth nights, weekly meetings included planning meetings with my co-Youth Worker, admin work sessions with one of the youth, and meetings with the volunteer leadership team. This role also involved liaising with the minister, board of managers, church administrator, congregation, and parents. This role further developed my creativity, communication, financial management and leadership skills.
