An elected Liberation Officer position, I was responsible for representing the interests of all ethnically diverse students at Newcastle University and oppose all prejudices and racism within the Students’ Union, university and NUS structures. I successfully held 7 cultural celebration activities and 2 cultural exhibitions, as well as wrote and successfully passed 2 motions in Student Council.

During my tenure as the Advocacy Chairperson, I facilitated student response towards state elections in Malaysia by subsidising flights for students, supported campaign for automatic citizenship for children born overseas to Malaysian mothers, and engaged with 17 Malaysian student representative councils overseas to develop VoteMalaysia, a global postal voting initiative in conjunction with Malaysia's 15th General Election.

As an intern, I managed the Dewan Muda Malaysia programme which simulates a virtual parliament with 222 participants, researched and produced content in relation to Undi18’s judicial review against the decision to delay the implementation of the voting age, and also represented the organisation in three forums/panels on youth and democratic rights.

Benar Betul is a social media project aimed at increasing media literacy among Malaysian youths. In this role, I managed stakeholders, participated in content planning and organised engagement events to raise media literacy among Malaysians. The team was awarded Best Capstone Team for Youth Advocacy Academy on Freedom of Expression 2020.

Awarded the Kennedy-Lugar Scholarship to study in the USA for 6 months, which was established after the 9/11 attacks by the U.S. Department of State to foster good relations between Muslim-majority countries and the United States. I was the recipient of Trailblazer Award as recognition of engagement initiatives with the local community done during the program.
