Kneefit Brace General Member Engineer
CurrentI am a member of the Queen’s Biomedical Innovation Team's KneeFit Brace Sub-Team, where my primary responsibility is the design and development of the knee brace's physical casing. My role entails ensuring that the brace is both comfortable and durable, capable of securely housing all internal components, and adaptable to different sizes. I collaborate extensively with the electrical sub-team to align the design with component requirements and with the user experience sub-team to meet usability standards. My research focuses on identifying suitable materials, such as neoprene for its skin-safe and firm properties, while exploring the integration of foam and the use of Velcro straps for enhanced adjustability. I leverage SolidWorks for 3D modeling and employ 3D printing to prototype and refine the casing design to achieve a functional and user-friendly final product.
