Dr. Locust is a speaker, presenter, and strategist in the areas of research design, and statistical/process analysis. He holds a Ph.D. in Theory & Social Foundations, Research and Measurement from the University of Toledo, and is also a certified six sigma black belt (CSSBB) having a thorough understanding of all aspects of the DMAIC model to improve process efficiency. Dr. Locust is deeply engaged in independent and organizational study, most of which is done through his company, The Locust Group. Most of his research is proprietary, and focuses on predictive modeling of consumer behavior outcomes through a lens of equity (ie. jury cases, UX research, demographic preferences, etc.). In addition, Dr. Locust also leads ConsciRise, a platform for spiritual wellness services, product and events.Dr. Locust has spent the majority of his career working in higher education, with over 13+ years as a Chief Diversity Officer. He also has a history of teaching as an Adjunct Professor in a College of Liberal Arts and within a College of Education. Prior to his time in higher education, Dr. Locust spent time in various sales roles at KeyBank, PNC Bank, and Western & Southern Life Insurance.Dr. Locust is committed to life-long learning and continues to contribute as a scholar. He was acknowledged for his research at the Educational Research Exchange, winning “Best Thesis Research,” which was the foundation for his first published book. Since then, Dr. Locust has co-authored and published multiple articles in academic journals and received over 2 million dollars in grants.Just recently, Dr. Locust was inducted into Euclid High School's Distinguished Achievement Hall of Fame, his alma mater. He was recognized by the University of Cincinnati as one of their 50 “Communication Alumni Champions”, awarding and honoring those who have excelled in their profession and made a huge difference in their communities. Dr. Locust was also the recipient of the “National Role Model” award from Minority Access, a nonprofit organization with the mission of assisting institutions to recruit and retain underserved and underrepresented populations.
