During this role, I scoped out the possible path from a desktop-based software to a web-based solution with an emphasis on making complex 3D calculations possible with high performance. In five weeks, me and my team established a path forward and had implemented a PoC that also helped us generate data to bolster our standpoint. My main contributions were in researching the technology we used, researching the existing application and researching with our client about their requirements and their clients' requirements.

I was part of a team of six developers, being technical lead for them. This meant onboarding new employees, facilitating technical decisions, spearheading initiatives to introduce new technological features and being responsible for the team's happiness. It also meant communicating with my manager, telling them about the team's performance, roadblocks and initiatives we're undertaking. I also worked on improving maintenance, from making requests more accessible to users to tracking and reporting of effort which played into budget planning.

I was part of a four-person team to investigate a new product for an existing user base. I did user research, designed prototypes, gathered technical requirements and in the end presented our outcome to internal stakeholders. With their approval in hand, I created the Vue.js frontend from scratch and onboarded several fellow developers to this codebase. I also moderated weekly discussions in our Business Area to make sure developers are aligned across teams.

As a project manager, I gathered requirements from the design team, current users, the former lead developer, and the department head and compiled them into action points with clear goals. As a developer, I updated existing assets to fit the new specifications from the design team and made sure the design system stayed backward-compatible by implementing fallbacks. I also set up rollout mechanisms like an automated testing environment.

I enhanced the front end using Vue.js with new features according to their respective specifications and identified front end performance bottlenecks. For all implemented features, I also wrote test cases with Karma / Mocha. As a designer, I created mockups for upcoming features, assessed the current consistency state of the UI and started work on a style guide.

My main contribution in this project was the frontend framework transition. The team switched from Backbone.js / Marionette to Angular 5 / Ionic, therefore bringing the project in line with other software projects at the company. I also took care of the onboarding of four new frontend developers, making sure my position would be filled by the time I left the project.

I touched the whole breadth of development, from creating functions that talk directly to APIs of the smart home appliances and setting up the smart home server in terms of automation over managing in-app logic up to fine-tuning CSS to match the requirements of our designers.

Seven weeks long working in the project management field, two of them as representative of a colleague on holiday. As a project manager I served as the connection between customer and internal work forces (development and design), organized and held status updates, created sprint plans, went onsite to customers to solve arising problems, tested software and managed the issue tracking system.

As a design thinking coach, I was supporting three teams of students during their nine month design thinking journey: I delivered inputs on methodology, communicated goals and delivered feedback on a team's current status. For major events, I travelled to Porto Design Factory and Stanford University to connect with other teams and coaches and to represent Hasso Plattner Institute.The project was part of the course "Global Team-Based Innovation" which is a collaboration between Hasso Plattner Institute, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (as part of the SUGAR Network) and Stanford University (as part of the ME310 course at Stanford), as well as industry partners Audi, HUK Coburg, and FutureWei of Huawei.

Research how Google Analytics and social media analytics fits into marketing of the product that my division was promoting. I worked out the primary purpose of the product's website and analyzed how to best capture conversations about the product in social media. The result of my work was a guide on which areas to work on next when improving the website and a user guide on how to use a social media monitoring tool.
