Growing up in the electronics and telecom industry, I began assisting my father's company at an early age installing voice, data, and other systems. Having been in this environment for so long, I've been exposed to an extremely broad array of technologies. In my early teens I was proficient in printed circuit board design utilizing a CAD system; in my later teens, I was the principal CAD designer for machine frame design projects. I've done just about everything from pulling cable to sales presentations.I was exposed to programming in elementary school, shortly after I learned how to read. From that experience in my early years, my interest in computers grew as a hobby until I accepted my first professional IT position with Eagle Physicians. From 1999 to 2009 I was able to grow the Eagle IT Department from 1 FTE (me) to 7 FTEs. During my tenure with Eagle, I coordinated two major network upgrades, and implemented cutting edge wireless technologies (Free Space Optics in 2001 & Non Line of Sight RF in 2006). Between 2005 & 2010, I oversaw the implementation of six separate Mitel VoIP phone systems, built a new small data center, and implemented Windows 2003 Terminal Services. In late 2006 I coordinated the implementation of ProVation, an Electronic Procedural Record system for the purpose of documenting procedures at our Endoscopy Center for improved documentation & regulatory compliance guidelines. In early 2008 we implemented VMware ESX 3.0In 2009 we completed a successful migration from Exchange 2000 to 2007, implementation of a new Gig-E FSO link, EMC Avamar, Citrix XenApp, & Cisco 802.11n wireless. We also initiated the rollout of a new EMR/PM system eClinicalWorks, which we completed in 2010.In 2010, I began to pursue other opportunities, and landed the Senior Engineer position on the newly formed internal Infrastructure Team for NWN. After a little more than 5 years in that role, I earned a promotion to Director of the Infrastructure Team in 2016. During my tenure at NWN, I was responsible for all compute resources and network connectivity from the Data Centers to the Desktop, and facilitated numerous projects with technical oversight and budgetary responsibility.At the conclusion of a major corporate restructuring in 2019, I made the bittersweet decision to depart NWN. Since that time, I have been working with domestic and global delivery teams, as well as in some cases independently, to provide IT services to organizations of all sizes across the continental US.
