More than 15 years of experience in design & engineering in various forms, ranging from heavy industry to satellites and from academia to startups and scale-ups. I’m an expert at solving open-ended problems, getting teams unstuck, and tackling challenges with incomplete knowledge.I have spent the last few years building my own deep tech startup, in which I supervised a team of engineers and juggled the demands of the technical team, customers, investors & fund-raising, procurement, marketing, finance & manufacturing as well as handling contracting and legal affairs.Throughout my career, I’ve noticed that technical teams consistently struggle with a couple of things:- Establishing clear lines of communication- Involving & aligning relevant stakeholders- Consider that requirements can be “squishy”- Embrace & address unknowns & limitations early- Always challenging assumptions & conventional wisdom- Seeking inspiration beyond their field of expertise/comfort zoneAs a result, I’ve distilled that experience to help myself as well as teach others in tackling these blind spots when building technologies, products, processes & systems.
