I serve as vice president of Client Support and Innovation. I lead Smithbucklin AXP℠, the association excellence program developed by Smithbucklin designed to support boards and executive directors in regular, meaningful, and focused conversations about priorities, progress, and opportunities for improvement and value creation. I also partner with Smithbucklin’s executive director community to use research, benchmarking, and analysis to identify and implement leading practices, multi-year planning methodologies, and governance and board effectiveness training to achieve desired outcomes.Joining Smithbucklin in 1999, I have served several client organizations as a practitioner in the executive director role and previously led Smithbucklin’s new client development team. In addition, I actively participate in ASAE, the Association for Strategic Planning, and currently serve on the board of its Chicago chapter. Before joining Smithbucklin, I worked as an expatriate in Brussels, Belgium, serving as a senior marketing manager for Belgacom, the national phone company of Belgium. I helped the company prepare for telecom deregulation mandated by the European Union for two years.
