Open Capital Advisors is a management consulting and financial advisory firm founded in 2010 to support high-potential businesses, investors, value chains, and scalable approaches to economic growth across Africa. Our team has completed more than 1,500 engagements, helped deploy over USD 1.5 Billion in capital, and brings deep experience in over 27 countries on the continent.Summary of select projects: -Led consulting teams and managed budget for donor-funded renewable energy (off-grid solar) program in Uganda. Developed and managed relationships leading to strategy advisory engagements with businesses, government bodies, and financial institutions to advance access to energy.-Led a team of four consultants that developed go-to-market strategies, investor memos, and financial models to support pre-series A capital raises for three agribusinesses in Ghana and Ethiopia. -Led teams delivering transaction support, led project management and business development, and managed senior stakeholder relationships as part of a multi-year USAID program looking to raise USD 140 million for businesses in agriculture and productive use of energy in Uganda. -Led a team of three consultants that developed a 10-year strategy for a program funded by three international development partners focused on accelerating energy access for refugees and host communities leveraging private sector actors in Uganda.-Led teams that developed a culture transformation strategy for a commercial bank in Uganda undergoing a turnaround and developed renewable energy and agriculture sector strategies for three commercial banks in Zambia and Uganda.-Co-authored seven reports informing market-building interventions for renewable energy technologies in Africa for World Bank, FCDO, Shell Foundation, USAID, and GIZ.Countries covered in these projects: Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, DRC, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria.

IAA Healthcare was a Health Membership Organization in Uganda providing health insurance schemes as part of the International Medical Group (IMG). IMG was a health services group with a hospital, International Hospital Kampala (IHK), and clinics, International Medical Centers (IMCs) across Uganda. In 2021, Prudential Uganda completed a full acquisition of IAA and in 2022 IMG rebranded to C-Care.I analysed schemes to determine performance through claim ratios and identified key usage trends that guided underwriting procedures. In addition, I managed enrollment and renewal of schemes through issuing of policies for both individual and corporate clients and designed associate benefit schedules.
