Set up a research lab to create biometric technology for Veridium ID.Their aim was to replace the password with either your face, fingerprint, or iris. The technology developed can perform the job of a $2000 fingerprint scanner by using any smartphone and without any additional hardware. The smartphone camera is used to capture fingerprints which are enhanced and made compatible with government databases, allowing banking customers to prove their identity online.It is now a million dollar product.

Responsible for Sharp's Dual View display research. During this time we continually improved the basics designs in collaboration with Sharp manufacturing Japan, our aim being to keep our technology ahead of the competition. I pioneered the world's first Dual View display. It was used by Toyota, and I wrote research up as a PhD thesis in my spare time.

3D LCD display technology development and technology transfer. I spent nine months in Japan helping to set up mass production of the world's first 2D/3D switch-able mobile phone. I gained terrific visibility of the road leading from concept to commercialisation which has been key to my career.
