From an early age, I have always been interested in how the world works. My favorite questions growing up were “How?” and “Why?”. “How does water move up the faucet just from turning the handle?” or “Why does flipping a switch on the wall turn on a light on the ceiling?”. Through the years I have been able to answer more and more of these questions. While my education has definitely helped me do so, I find the most satisfaction from my personal discoveries in these matters. To me, engineering is the medium through which I can continue to explore the world.So far at NC State, my passion and curiosity for engineering has only continued to grow. Learning programs such as Solidworks, MatLab, and LabView has provided me with the technical ability to explore the topics that I am so fascinated in. I have additionally gained experience using Root Cause Analysis, project management skills, DFMA, and 3D printing in the completion of various projects throughout my time at NCSU.Developing these skills has shifted my focus towards the product design industry. In this industry I could utilize my technical ability, curiosity, and creativity to create sustainable products for the next generation.
