About Jonathan A. Morales Marroquín
I am a Postdoctoral researcher at Zucchi's Lab and Baldin Pinheiro's Lab at São Paulo University (USP-Esalq) in Brazil. My research focuses on understanding biodiversity and food systems through population genomics for tropical plant breeding, natural resource governance, and climate resilience, focusing on the Global South (Central America and Brazil). I have a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology (genomics and plant breeding) from the Biology Institute at the University of Campinas (Unicamp).I have experience in tropical landscapes project management, large-scale regional fieldwork in low-income countries with local and international counterparts, data analysis, and report writing/communication in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.My passions: Native crops biodiversity, plant breeding, climate policy, networking, genetic resources, collective work, and sustainability. I have also been involved with higher education and data mining.
