As a Project Engineer/ Estimator I bridge the boundaries between engineering and the project management, leading the technical workers who contribute to the building of structures for the Co-op Group. Throughout this role it is in my best interest to liaise with the Bid Team, Account Manager, client & Project Manager to ensure all parties are fluent throughout the project.After performing a site survey at the scope meeting I will then design a basic installation and confirm the calculations with the design team. I shall then prepare estimate including, materials, labor, prelims and margins. Once the estimate is final and has be signed off by the DM during the bid review stage I shall proceed with the proposal. Depending on the project’s significance I will follow the project to the end as project manager. This includes attending prestart meetings, arranging rams ordering materials, checking stock and ensuring the job is complete to deadline. Clients I currently works with are as follows; Morrison, Coop, Manchester College, University of Liverpool, Thomas Cook, Bentley, Bradford Council, Bet 365, Shop Direct and Tameside Hospital. Key Tasks and Responsibilities• Liaise with Bid Team & Technical Designers to ensure high quality & detailed proposals are submitted in line with client requirements.• To advise the peraratiomns Manager on any foreseeable issues with workload etc.• Preparing all enquiries for sign off at the relevant level in good time as to allow for changes to take effect within the deadline submittal date.• Applying for project pricing & liaising with our supply chain to ensure the most competitive rates are used at all times.• Using drawings and specifications to produce competitive tenders.• Taking off quantities off drawings/specifications/bills of quantities.• Producing complete electrical estimates using estimating Software.

As the PM I were able to motivate and lead a team of 5 electrical engineers, which I recruited on a daily basis within the competitive market of EV chargers. Being a PM within an SME encouraged me to organise my time management efficiently as I needed to complete additional tasks out of my role. I followed up leads and dealt with inquiries for a potential job. The clients then would be approached by a site visit or friendly phone call by myself. Once I had become familiar with the client's interests I would design their installation and confidently pitch the quotation back to the customer. I achieved an outstanding 98% success rate with the hundreds of inquiries I dealt with. When a verbal agreement was made I had to ensure all legal documents had been thoroughly checked, signed and authorised before work could commence. I were also responsible for the stock control ensuring all stock levels stayed above the minimum requirement and products were delivered on time to the right site. I used my additional time to be proactive in order to improve out tender flow by direct marketing, which lead to a promotion.

At Absolute Surveillance Systems Ltd my responsibility as head engineer were to maintain and installSecurity systems. From access equipment to the monitoring station I had to ensure all equipment would run accurate and efficiently 24 hours a day. My installation experience before I began the job role helped me understand the physics involved. As an electrician the erect of equipment was second nature to me however the programming side of the operation opened new doors for me. When I started at ASSL I found the programming of the equipment very interesting as the systems we installed were intricate. I thoroughly enjoyed working on this team and I still am fascinated by the technology of surveillance equipment.
