Soldiers who have deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation New Dawn, have the shared experience of being issued ballistic plates for their body armor that have been turned in by other Soldiers after their combat tours. Part of ensuring plates are combat ready involves a detailed inspection process to identify defective plates, and remove them from circulation. R4 personnel install, troubleshoot, collect data and provide sustainment operations of the Armor Inspection System (AIS) employing X-Ray to scan body armor plates.

Responsible for replication of various positions and groups of people representing possible circumstances military units may face during deployment. Duties include participating in various Situational Training Exercises and other training events to imitate mission scenarios in order to provide the essential training experience to Soldiers preparing form combat operation in varying conditions. Effectively represented such groups as members of the new Iraqi Security Forces (Iraqi Police Service, Facility Protection Service, Iraqi Civil Defense Corps, New Iraqi Army); various civilians potentially encountered on the battlefield.

Supervised 20 + employees in the stockroom and on the sales floor while receiving, storing, packing and shipping merchandise and materials. Maintained automated stock records, item inventory and inbound/outbound schedules of materials. Responsible for disseminating needed information to associate about work practices in order to keep them aware of safety guidelines and ensuring they were implemented. Operated equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks and man lifts daily. Provided disciplined leadership including setting clear expectations and holding the team and self accountable for results. Personally supported, coached and helped develop team members across all departments by creating an environment where they could be successful. Responsible for the construction, preventive maintenance and repairs of military aircraft hangers and various types of tents on Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan and Forward Operation Bases (FOB’s) while operating heavy equipment, power tools and machinery such as scissor lifts, man lifts, power drills, reciprocating power saw and basic small tools. Also constructed and used scaffolds when required for specific projects. Additional responsibilities included supervision by assigning tasks to Host Country Nationals at the work site, receiving and storing equipment and assisting various trade workers. Conducted inspection tours of completed projects at each location to ascertain that established standards of maintenance were being followed. Dealt directly with Military personnel on a daily basis and provided quality assurance after satisfactory completion of missions.
