Fast Food Worker
Jonathan was assigned to work at the different stations in the kitchen, communicating with others to serve food as quickly as possible while retaining the quality of the food. On some days, he was on the grill station serving patties for the burgers while there were also other days when he worked on the shakes station where he had to prepare shakes and ice cream for his guests. He also had to multitask and micromanage between cooking two or more items simultaneously and keep track of the cooking time required for each item. Moreover, he also had to keep in mind the FIFO method to manage inventory and used the ingredients that were bought first. From this experience, Jonathan learned that every station in the kitchen plays a pivotal role in serving food efficiently and miscommunications could lead to delays in serving food and leave a bad reputation for the guests at Shake Shack. Job Scope: - Grilling patties - Frying bags of fries, chicken, and mushroom patties- Preparation of shakes and ice cream - Clearing tables and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area and kitchen - Assisted with the opening of the restaurant by preparing ingredients like bacon and sauces.
