Business Representative
Current•Handle matters related to collective bargaining in assigned areas of the Union’s jurisdiction, including negotiation of contracts and processing of concession requests and appeals. •Oversee administration of collective bargaining agreements in assigned areas •Process the opening and closing of each production or season in collaboration with other Equity departments. •Check contracts for accuracy and compliance to the Agreement(s). •File and process claims, rulings, and grievances on behalf of union members. •Provide front-line contract administration assistance to members in the workplace. •Respond to questions from members and employers regarding Equity and contract matters. •Represent Equity at first rehearsal, safety, and cast meetings, in-person and remotely. •Identify and pursue opportunities in assigned areas to expand Equity’s strategic interests, including identifying member leaders, relationships with allied organizations, and awareness of industry issues. •Interact with and support liaison committee(s) in conjunction with other Equity departments. •Serve as staff point-person for assigned governance committees.
