* Developed custom REST API, written in PowerShell, so that various systems could make changes to Active Directory. The system leveraged Active Directory authentication and authorization, OpenAPI documentation standards, and PowerShell “Just Enough Access” (or JEA).* Created and maintained Sub-Flows and Actions in the organization’s ServiceNow instance that made REST calls and parsed JSON responses for the above custom PowerShell REST API* Audited, Documented, and Implemented changes to the organization’s ADFS systems. The systems were changed to align to published best practices, mitigate security vulnerabilities, and have uniform configurations between different environments.* Setup new processes to handle data synchronization from the organization’s HR systems, external LDAP systems, and Active Directory. These new processes helped move the company away from unsupported compiled code to open-source code. A full set of documentation was created to compare the old system to the new system, how to install the new system (in case it needed to be moved in the future), and how to maintain and troubleshoot the new system.* Responsible for planning and managing a project to retire two Active Directory child domains over the course of 3 months. Wrote several PowerShell scripts to facilitate asset discovery, configuration backups, and reports. Assisted with architecting solutions to keep services running for systems after the domains were retired.

Responsibilities include identity and email migration to Microsoft 365 from the company's 20+ AD domains and various email systems, configuring custom rules for Azure AD Connect, creating conditional access rules, implementing and managing Privileged Identity Management (PIM) for administrative tier user accounts, configuring various M365 application policies.* Developed global standards for Active Directory for over 20 AD domains; including common computer naming policies, designing a common OU structure, re-architecting group policy objects, developing baseline group policies, designing AD access control standards, implemented a 3-tier account design, standardizing backup processes, re-architecting DNS, implementing CIS benchmarks, etc.* Responsible for all ADFS configuration and maintenance in the US and Azure AD enterprise applications. Configured exotic SAML configurations, such as having ADFS work as both an IDP and SP to get multiple clients with different Identity Providers access to a hosted application that can only be configured for a single Identity Provider.* Responsible for daily workflows that collect data from the company's HR and Active Directory systems, collect data from various applications via REST APIs, parse and join the datasets, output data changes, make changes to AD users and groups, provision/de-provision users in AD and external applications, and more.* Wrote dozens of PowerShell scripts to assist with: identity and email migrations, day-to-day management of accounts, identity audits, access audits, setting WMI permissions, processing group membership changes using Excel workbooks as inputs, and much more.* Rewrote the company's Active Directory Disaster Recovery Run Book and actively participated in the company's annual DR tests for four years.* Set up least privilege access to Active Directory and domain joined-computers for various applications.

* Designed, documented, and implemented HSM backed auto-scaling, highly-available end-to-end solution to process digital signatures and generate 2D barcodes for boarding passes to meet requirements for TSA Precheck. The system is now a mission critical system, as it generates barcodes for all web based boarding passes, even those without TSA Precheck.* Designed, documented, and implemented solutions to securely host SFTP services in AWS and automate transfers from and to third-party SFTP hosts. These systems helped the company mitigate several security risks and meet PCI compliance as well as achieve high availability, long term archival of transferred files, greatly improved logged and audit capability, and better integration with the company's job scheduling system.* Proposed and setup several storage gateway volumes and virtual tape library to help archive the company's data. As a result, the company has been able to quickly integrate AWS into their backup strategy using their existing backup software and file servers and has stored over 12.5 TB in the cloud in less than 4 months for less than $400 per month.* Principal engineer on AWS environments and implementations. Designed and documented VPC and subnet layouts making it possible to identify the AWS account, geographic region, availability zone, and application group of an asset in AWS by its IP address alone. The system allows ACLs to be applied with potentially fewer rules than what might otherwise be needed.* Responsible for PCI and IT security remediation across the enterprise. Involved in scanning for vulnerabilities, developing and implementing remediation plans, tracking and reporting remediation progress, participating in internal and external audits, and helping to maintain the general security of the company.
