Railboard is a train times and train tickets iPhone & iPad app. It was released as a train times app in 2018 and started selling train tickets in 2022.Most of my work is in product development, but I also do a sizeable amount of app support, marketing, and quite a few other jobs.

I was back again at Ford, working on the FordPass Pro app and briefly on the FordPass app. Mostly remote.

Zenly is a map based social media app, owned by Snap Inc. Two thirds of the contract was at Zenly’s office in Paris, one third remote.

Ford Motor Company are one of the largest car companies in the world. I was working on the FordPass Pro app for commercial vehicle owners. This contract was fully remote.

Candyspace is a digital agency. I was back again, once again working on the ITV Hub iOS and tvOS apps.

Working again at AND, this time for another client on a very short-term project, which is still under NDA.

AND Digital are a large agency that work with their clients’ people to build impactful products and high performing teams. A handful of their clients include Whitbread, ASOS, British Airways, and TalkTalk.I was placed with a team of other "Andies" at their client: a Santander backed fintech startup called Asto, which is a finance app for small businesses and sole traders. Initially working in a team of 3 iOS developers, which grew to 6 by the end of the contract. Asto was released in March 2019.

Candyspace is a digital agency. Having previously worked at Candyspace on another project, this time I was working on the ITV Hub tvOS and iOS apps.For the first 3 months I was working on the new ITV Hub Apple TV app - released in December 2017. For the rest of the contract I was working on the ITV Hub iOS app.

The App Business (now called Kin + Carta Create) is a large agency that works on difficult and innovative projects for many well-known companies.I was working on an internal iPad app for TfL. The app assisted station staff in sharing maintenance issues with the London Underground Control Centre. The work consisted of adding new features to the app, which was written in Swift.

Future Platforms is an award-winning digital agency. Having previously worked at Future Platforms, I was once again working on the Domino’s Pizza iPhone app.This time working with a mix of Swift and Objective-C, implementing a new UI refresh, performing general maintenance, fixing bugs, and writing UI tests.

Candyspace are a digital agency with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles and Paris. They build digital products and campaigns. Some of their clients include Argos, Nintendo, Paramount, ITV and Unilever.I was working on a new receipt scanning and surveys app Candyspace were making for a client. It involved integrating the Swift iOS app with a RESTful JSON API and implementing UI designs. The app, called Shoppix, is now available on the App Store.

Black Swan applies big data and predictive data science techniques to consumer marketing. It works with large consumer-focused brands such as PepsiCo, Vodafone, Samsung, Disney and Panasonic.As a contractor at Black Swan Data I worked on versions 6.0, 6.1 and 6.2 of the My Vodafone iPhone app; mostly on bug fixes and general maintenance, but also on new features - such as the new Voice of Vodafone messages released in version 6.1 and the push notifications and speed checker features in version 6.2.My Vodafone is a free app that lets Vodafone customers manage their accounts. It was entirely refactored into Swift in early 2016 and uses a REST API.

Blink is a tech startup making a workplace platform for frontline workers of large companies. Its clients nowadays include Stagecoach, Metroline, Calder Stewart, NHS Scotland, Paga and HM Government.Blink (then known as Kimono) graduated the Techstars London startup accelerator, and got their first paying customer, in early 2015. Since then they have continued to attract large multinational customers (see the impressive list above!), and have closed another fairly sizeable investment round.After joining as the first iOS developer, I was responsible for developing the iPhone app from the ground up (for what was then mostly a messaging startup), and successfully got the first version onto the App Store within 3 months of starting at Blink. Since then I personally released 8 updates, the iOS team grew to 2 permanent members, the first customer of Blink expanded their use of Blink to more teams, and other potential customers started trials of Blink.The app was written in Swift, interacted via JSON with a REST and socket-based API, and used Core Data.

Future Platforms is an award-winning digital agency, working with leading companies that include Domino’s Pizza, EE, the Premier League, Cancer Research UK and The Telegraph.Whilst at Future Platforms I predominantly worked on the Domino’s Pizza iPhone and iPad apps. Working with my project manager and the QA team I delivered high quality code on schedule, attended meetings with the client to offer a technical opinion on how new features could be implemented, and when needed visited the client site to work with the client’s developers and testers.In 2015 Domino’s Pizza doubled the annual development budget they allocate to Future Platforms - who develop all their mobile apps. The award winning mobile apps accounted for over 38% of all Domino’s’ sales.We used JIRA for issue tracking and the apps were written in Objective-C and interacted with Domino’s via an XML API. They used a cross platform development framework, called Kirin, to share business logic between the different mobile platforms.As well as working in the Domino’s team I worked on many other projects; including the Race for Life, Premier League Away Days and EE Wembley Stadium apps, occasional Wordpress work on the company website and I developed a prototype app that demonstrated how Estimote bluetooth iBeacons may be used by retailers. I also took responsibility for the Jenkins continuous integration build server used by all projects.

RealVNC is a multi-award winning company with customers in 160 countries. Its founders are the original inventors of VNC - software for remotely accessing computers.As part a small team I helped maintain the company website and internal sales systems. During my time at RealVNC I was responsible for adding new content to the website and being the interface between our team and the rest of the company, and worked on design and technical improvements to the website and CRM.

As an intern at RealVNC I changed the templating system used for the website, produced a sales dashboard for management, created a system to upload and download large development files for major customers and gained familiarity with the various systems used by our team.

Frontier Silicon is the world’s leading supplier of technology solutions for digital radio and smart audio devices.I was primarily responsible for all the system testing of a portable DAB radio in development. On the test team I also assisted with the system testing for a number of other projects, mostly internet radios.

The Legal Services Commission ran the legal aid scheme in England and Wales.I was entering information relating to legal firms’ claims onto the computer system.

Ede & Ravenscroft supply ceremonial attire, including gowns and robes for graduation ceremonies in the UK and abroad.Working in a small call centre, I took calls for gown orders and sold photography to customers ordering the gowns.
