Delivering for a wide variety of clients, ranging from John Lewis, Next, ASOS, JD Williams and many other well known high street and on-line brands, to eBay sellers via the MyHermes network, requires a diverse and flexible network, capable of overcoming the challenges faced when delivering to home and business addresses. The Hermes network currently achieves 95% of all items delivered on the first attempt. At a high level the role of Head of Courier Service requires strategic thought, design and implementation, engagement of a national management team consisting of 235 people, compliance management of the lifestyle courier network and budgetary control of in excess of £195m annual spend.

Contract negotiation and compliance monitoring, financial management, H&S and Environmental compliance. Also responsible for designing and implementing the innovative Store to Door delivery service, allowing retail chain customers to have parcels collected from the high street and delivered direct to their customers home or business address.
