As President, Drake bought a chemical compounding plant in Chicago and established the business as a vendor to OEM's. The company client list included Avery Dennison, Boeing, Chrysler and the US Department of Defense. Work on decorating plastics to meet FAA ratings led to a promising technology (Fresco Imaging Technology) for creating high-performance digital graphics in thermoplastics. In 2004, Drake sold his position in FRCPyroTech and began building Fresco Products to exploit the Fresco Imaging Technology.

Published lifestyle magazines including Pacific Monthly and Pacific GuestLife under Pacific Publishing Group. Advertising clients included ATT, Cell One, Ralph Lauren, Talbot Clothing, etc. Drake pioneered the transition from analog to digital publishing and sold the magazine group to Desert Publications.
