I advise on all aspects of intellectual property, and focus on patent/IP litigation and strategy. My work covers a wide range of technologies, with a particular focus on cases with a high scientific / technological content in the life sciences, medical devices, high-tech, and manufacturing sectors. My expertise covers both IP litigation and commercial IP, and I have been involved in a number of landmark cases in the IP field. I have been a specialist IP lawyer for over 30 years.I am listed by the independent legal directories as being among the UK’s leading IP lawyers, especially for IP disputes.I have extensive experience of acting for international clients on multinational matters, and regularly advises on pan-European and multinational disputes, including acting as European co-ordinating counsel. I have a particular interest in the development of the Unified Patent Court and in the strategic opportunities this presents. I am believed to be one of only two English solicitors to have had both a patent appeal and a separate trade mark appeal to the UK Supreme Court.I have a strong minor in copyright law, as I have acted for many years for one of the world’s leading auction houses, and so have built up a deep expertise in related copyright, moral rights, and artists’ resale right issues.I regularly write in the legal and trade press, and am on the editorial board of IP Litigator (USA).
