This role is part of WW Operations, focused on identifying mechanisms and protocols for the physical repair and recovery of damaged assets across North American Operations. Responsibilities• Develop and publish policies, plans, and methods for managing the physical response, repair and recovery aspects of disaster events that affect Amazon building assets. Centralized visibility to functional protocols developed by others.• Lead process improvement projects related to crisis management, business continuity, and emergency response plans for large events of damage or operational impact, including mapping of existing process and future processes.• Develop and train stakeholders on overall coordinated recovery process, allowing each critical stakeholder to be knowledgeable of how their function fits into the broader recovery objective.• Evaluate and capture metrics related to disaster response and recovery, including operational resumption time, repair time, and other key metrics.• Publish regular business reviews, highlighting key metrics, successes, and key learnings, that can be incorporated into design standards, operational practices, and emergency response processes.• Participate as a stakeholder reviewer of emergency response plans, and similar self-service tools for site leaders to effectively triage disaster events and coordinate with the broader disaster recovery jump-team. • In the absence of a DR manager, drive and monitor recovery efforts for major events until repairs are complete and operations resumed.• Collaborate with Procurement and Asset Management in dispatch of rapid response vendors including structural engineers, restoration vendors, and similar, particularly where Landlord resources are constrained.• Lead cross-department after-action-reviews, focused on the recovery aspects of the disaster event.

Manages the development and implementation of the Crisis Management Program and assists in the implementation of Business Continuity for North and Latin American regions as part of the enterprise-wide Global Security Resiliency Program for Facebook. Organizes and presents Crisis Management information to stakeholders of all levels. Develops and maintains relationships with NORAM and LATAM office leadership, Regional Security Managers, EHS, and other key partners within the regions. Created the company’s Site Resiliency Team for functional leaders with professional, specialized support including crisis management, planning, project management, problem analysis/resolution, and strategic planning.

The Americas Resiliency Lead manages the development and implementation of the Facebook Crisis Management Program and assists in the implementation of Business Continuity for the Region as part of the enterprise-wide Global Security Resiliency Program.▪ Works with the team to continue to define policies, plans, methods, and tools for crisis management that are required across the Americas region.▪ Implements a comprehensive Site Level Crisis Management Program for large, complex corporate campuses in the Americas region.▪ Works with the team to coordinate with all partners for full integration with security, emergency management, and business continuity.▪ Evaluates and captures metrics related to crisis management.▪ Develops and maintains relationships with Americas Office Leadership, Regional Security Managers, EHS and other key partners within the regions.▪ Provides the team with professional, specialized skills, including crisis management, planning, project management, problem analysis/resolution and strategic planning.▪ Organizes and presents Crisis Management information to stakeholders of all levels.

As the Chief of this newly expanded area, managed OEM’s large operational budget and a team of 5 professionals responsible for emergency planning, critical infrastructure protection, fire life safety, and hazmat program management. Duties included federal-level support of water sector policy and planning decisions. Acted as lead Incident Management Team liaison from DC Water providing agency support during District of Columbia and Federal scheduled events and disasters. Developed and managed a federally recognized water-sector Incident Management Assistance Team and deployed it during Hurricanes Sandy, Irma, and Maria. Created, maintained, and implemented DC Water’s Emergency Management Plans, including all updates and ensuring compliance with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and conformity to the District Emergency Response Plan.

- Launched the DC Water Emergency Management Plan, which was implemented throughout all of the operational departments. This cradle-to-grave project included: plan development, contractor management, training and implementation, tactical emergency response, and review through a corrective action program.- Developed and implemented the DC Water Occupied Building Evacuation Plan including, liaising with the DC FEMS Fire Marshals department and HSEMA, conducting facility evacuation drills, and providing employee training.- COLLABORATED WITH EPA TO DEVELOP NATIONAL PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT WATER AND WASTEWATER PREPAREDNESS. WHEAT, EXERCISE AND TRAINING PLAN- Created the DC Water emergency response training program, which includes external and internal training sessions to improve the response skills of DC Water’s key tactical and strategic response personnel.- Implemented and managed the District of Columbia’s District Response Plan Emergency Liaison Officer program for DC Water personnel.- Implemented an enterprise-wide emergency spill response program, that included: training of response personnel in HAZWOPER and ICS, identifying PPE and response equipment for the 6 critical HAZMAT unloading facilities, and wrote the DC Water spill response plan to provide guidance for employees and management.

Responsible for the management and coordination of all Crisis Emergency Management (CEM) contingency plan review and training for BHP Billiton and other large mining corporations throughout the Americas. Conducted large-scale multi-stakeholder exercises and training sessions. Provided Incident Management Team training for senior executives and upper management. Conducted technical reviews of proposed site locations, highlighting environmental impacts.
