We've all heard that CONTENT IS KING. But why exactly do you need it?​1. Content starts relationships. If you want people to visit and spend time on your website, you've got to give them something worth staying for. Content does that. ​2. Content builds trust.​ It's one thing to say you can do something. But show your customers you know what you're talking about and they'll take you seriously. Content does that. ​3. Content creates leads. By the time most people reach out, they already know what they're looking for, and have a good idea of how they think you can help. How, then, do you ensure customers know what you can do for them, without speaking directly to them? ​Content does that.And this is where I come in. Bringing over 15 years' experience writing for trade media, I create content that is both technically accurate AND that people want to read. That is focused on what the customer wants to hear. That demonstrates your knowledge and skills.

My role as editor saw me lead a team of editorial, production and sales staff that were responsible for the monthly publication of World Cement, the market leading publication covering the global cement industry. Principal responsibilities included writing monthly editorials, feature stories, and daily web news. I also managed external contributors - both industry experts and freelance writers - and was responsible for maintaining World Cement’s social media content with experience on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.As an international publication, I coordinated World Cement’s attendance at events around the world, working with various events companies and conference organisers. My role also included training new graduate recruits, many of whom went on to senior editorial roles.

During my tenure at World Coal, I oversaw the launch of a new trade magazine, Dry Bulk. This required me to develop an understanding of a new industry, with its current market participants and opportunities; growing a base of contributors; and supporting the sales team in setting up a database of new clients.

I led the team responsible for the monthly publication of World Coal, including writing monthly editorials and feature stories. I also contributed daily news and analysis to the magazine’s website, as well as creating, managing and maintaining World Coal’s social media platforms, which now have thousands of followers.
