Format and Design Client documents for mass-mail advertising. The day-to-day involves balancing formatting documents, checking in with Clients about design decisions, or different mailing options. The formatting and design aspects of this job require extensive knowledge of InDesign, Word, Excel, and intermediate knowledge of Photoshop. We use Excel spreadsheets to organize mailing recipients and addresses. We often have to edit Excel documents to include Reference numbers, phone numbers for different states, or additional information that the client wants included in their specified mailers. We then 'overlay' these Excel spreadsheets onto InDesign documents or word docs and place 'merge fields' associated with specific columns in the Excel spreadsheet. This process is for the easier jobs. Some jobs require edits in Photoshop, or exporting the background into a PDF for backgrounds for future client jobs. We also at times have to contact third party sources like Kelly Paper, or Got Print, to help with the resources required for a specific job. Whether it's for business cards or specific stock. We often work with the Sales Reps in our office about a clients selections for their advertisements. How they want them printed, whether they want stamps or indicias, and their options for mailing the pieces out. We also often work with our IT Department to provide issues that we notice with the 'job board,' our website where clients can post jobs. These can range from issues with how clients provide instructions, to whether a jobs information or documents are 'damage' in the process. All of this fits into a normal day for a Marketing Coordinator. Some days are far more intensive than others, whether they include complicated jobs with more steps (like ordering specific stock or envelopes), or days where a surplus of jobs are uploaded by multiple clients with varying due dates.
