I'm a student at Case Western Reserve University concentrating on the metabolic aspects of biochemistry. My core interests revolve around the microbiota-gut-brain axis, and how the metabolites of the enteric microbiota affect enteroendocrine release and the greater endocrine system. My work on Salmonella enterica as a student researcher at Portland State University's Center for Life in Extreme Environments provided me with valuable experience in microbiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry techniques. This research allowed me to investigate the mechanisms of restriction-modification in bacteria, further fueling my passion for microbial metabolism and its impacts on host physiology.
