I was brought on board to assist another contractor in implementing support for Square Point of Sale customers in the Commerce Sync platform - a software system that processes point of sale system sales data, evaluates sales tax information, and imports it into small business accounting systems.Highlights of my time at IP Commerce include implementing support for multiple tax rates, implementing refund receipt processing, implementing deposit settlements, segregating error handling and logging processes from main Connector flow, implementing an asynchronous version of our regression testing suite, designing a framework for abstraction of API requests, and substantial refactoring work to support multiple extract types.While at Commerce Sync my role was not limited to Software Engineering tasks. As the subject matter expert on the Connector component, I also took on a number of Business Analyst responsibilities. I worked in tandem with our product owner to nail down requirements, write and clarify user stories, and wrote extensive documentation on the Square APIs we were using. As part of the development process I organized meetings with the software architect, product owner, and QA department. Additionally, I elicited detailed requirements from the product owner and support stuff. Finally, I also kept a constant eye out for improvements that could be made to our product - which resulted in improved error reporting and a better regression testing experience.

My primary role at Amadeus Consulting was to perform full stack development in order to implement new features in MVC web applications.During my time at Amadeus I worked extensively from mock-ups and wire frames provided by our design department. It was my responsibility to interface with and modify existing domain logic to modify and create the Razor views necessary to support new features.User interface work included structuring and styling web pages, and writing client side JavaScript -including making AJAX requests to partial views and working on custom Knockout controls, creation and modification of ASP.NET Razor views.Most of the projects I worked on at Amadeus utilized SQL Server on the backend. Integration with SQL Server was handled through an internal serialization framework that emphasized Views, Stored Procedures and Parameterized SQL. Part of my responsibilities was to write and modify stored procedures. I also was responsible for occasional minor schema adjustments, maintenance of SQL Server projects, and writing schema change scripts.Additional work at Amadeus Consulting included developing Web API based web services and an internal WPF based desktop application.
