Meet Jonathan Rumley, an alumni at Western Governors University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance with the intentions of obtaining a Masters Degree in Cybersecurity in the near future. With certifications including Google IT Support Professional, Axelos ITILv4 Foundation, CompTIA's A+, Network+, Security+, Project+, CySA+, PenTest+, and the associate status ISC^2 SSCP(Systems Security Certified Practitioner), Jonathan continues to self-learn by investing his free time in home labs, podcasts, and TryHackMe rooms with the intentions to compete in CTF's (capture the flag competitions) while pursuing a Service Desk role with the City and County of Denver.Jonathan's passion for cybersecurity, information assurance, and/or information security started when he enrolled in a Computer Information Systems Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Secure Software Development with Arapahoe Community College in 2018. After graduating from the AAS CIS program in August 2021, he decided to continue his studies by enrolling in Western Governors University's BSCSIA (Bachelor of Science: Cybersecurity and Information Assurance) degree program to primarily focus on the security aspect of technology.Jonathan aspires to work as a cybersecurity or information security expert to help organizations protect their data and assets from cyber threats. He's also passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology and security to help drive innovation and advancements in the field.Apart from his academic and professional pursuits, Jonathan also has a passion for disc golf. He's a professional disc golfer competing through the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) in Colorado. Jonathan also gives personalized disc golf coaching lessons to help beginners, amateurs, professionals, and/or anyone else who wants to learn the game, advance their skills, and/or refine their techniques.
