Supported entrepreneurial founders following last minute acceptance of franchise bid into the League of Legends European League (LEC). Actions included help recruiting coaching staff, coach development, team development and advice (10 man roster and coaching staff) and player development and initial team creation activities. Also, delivering innovative/adaptive solutions under intense time pressure to resolve the inevitable emerging challenges that come with delivering 6 months of work in 2 months including the Christmas "break". Played key support/fixer role in establishment of High Performance Center at Twickenham Stadium and fixing problems at Gaming House in Berlin - both physical and psychological. Project finished just before start of Split 1, 2019.

Supported the Owners and Leadership Team to create a winning organisation to exploit the development of eSports in Oceania. Accelerated all aspects relating to short and long term player and coach performance. Provided guidance and philosophical input for creation of eSports High Performance Centre around how the military respond to intense information-feedback cycles. Integrated the latest advances in high pressure performance into the way the team plays and develops. Acted as trouble shooter for people and performance challenges faced by the team. Restructured intelligence (analysis) team building links with top data assessment organisations. Was instrumental in helping the team to win 3 splits with the final split delivering a 10-0 undefeated performance - a first for the region. Provided on the ground support and advice and trouble shooting for the team at MSI Brazil 2017, Worlds in China 2017 and MSI 2018 (Berlin).

One of the surprising things i found on becoming a consultant was the relatively poor standard of boards in so many companies I saw. Consequently, I put myself through many of the IoD courses to ensure I led my company skillfully (and legally). I eventually became involved with the IoD South working to increase and improve young director involvement. During that time I also worked with local committees helping to promote the Institute to younger members (under 42) feeding into the work Miles and the leadership team were doing nationally. I also served on a local branch committee. I was already committed to improving my own standards of directing and this made me even more committed.

Delivered major change programmes with the pioneers of business coaching in Europe, Sir John Whitmore, David Whitaker and David Hemery. Have a "molecular" understanding of how and why change works (or doesn't work) in organisations. Whilst I left the partnership in the autumn of 2006, it was a fruitful and productive time. From experience of working with coaching pioneers I developed collaborative management. This helps you combine a coaching/collaborative approach with typical and essential management responsibilities such as goal setting and performance management. Started my career in Customer Business Development (Sales) before moving into Learning and Development. I was asked to help improve standards in the UK and also advise on standards in Europe. I oversaw the rewrite of the Sales College 1 introducing new media and content. I then took on additional responsibilities in Corporate Learning and Development. Key achievements: Spearheaded an effort to improve people management standards across the UK business. Introduced Accelerated Learning to the organisation. Introduced Kirkpatrick course evaluation to measure the ROI on training investments. Improved CBD L&D. Some of this work was rolled out across Europe and one element become a global course.It was an exciting time to be at P&G as the leadership were transforming the business and solving some long term structural problems that had been holding the company back. Having an insider's view of such large scale change prepared me well for helping other major companies as a consultant. One other key learning points was the importance of values based leadership and how to improve performance through values based change. Few companies were as good as P&G at that time.
