Friendmotron.com is a social network aggregator. This project is no longer active. It provided access to users' accounts and activities across several popular Social Networks(Similar to Google Buzz). One of the main features of the site was a recommendation system that helped users connect to other individuals with similar interests and activities/postings. It is a small start-up company that I founded myself.; Design and implementation with emphasis on Ruby on Rails, HTML, and CSS.Design and implementation of an extensible social network crawler. Intellext, "Intelligence in context", is a privately owned company that develops Watson, a search aggregator that performs intelligent searches based on the context of your work. Intellext changed it's name to MediaRiver in 2007, converting the product to a Javascript/Flash widget.; Design and implementation duties with emphasis on C++, C, and VB.Some project management responsibilities (for a 4-5 developer project), including running daily status meetings, gathering task estimates and status from all developers and QA, and reassigning tasks to ensure that the project stays on schedule.Producing task lists and estimates for own work.Working with QA to develop test plans.Owning several large bodies of code.Identifying and resolving performance problems, including memory leaks.Responsible for reviewing code written by other developers.Specific projects including:Instituted coding standards. Including authoring a 13-page document detailing C++ coding standards, enforcing standards via code review, and updating 1000s of lines of code to meet the new standard (fixing many bugs, performance problems, and memory leaks as a result).Developed integration into Microsoft SharePoint servers using SOAP requestsDeveloped Webservice for integration with Elsevier search.ICF (Information-source Connector File) development for Watson. Open Text acquired Campbell Services in 12/97.; Design and implementation duties using multiple languages and on multiple platforms, with emphasis on C, C++, OScript and Windows.Writing functional specifications, high-level designs, developer documentation, and end-user documentation.Producing task lists and estimates for own work.Working with QA to develop test plans.Owning several large bodies of code and a few whole projects.Resolving customer issues. Negotiating the scope of resolution and development of patches or new releases as required.Handled scalability and performance issues; aware of cross DB tuning techniques.Often working in a paired programming environment as part of agile/extreme programming techniques.Responsible for reviewing code written by peer developers.Co-founded "OScript team". This included optimizing for performance, maintainability of code base, as well as new feature development. E.g. Calendar synchronization process was taken from order n^2 (or worse, failure to run due to memory footprint) to order n.

Main performance improvements include cutting average browsing time for 1000 documents from 26.06 seconds to 6.57 seconds.Designed and implemented API to Livelink for Windows Explorer namespace extension. Allows document repositories directly through Windows Explorer as an alternative to web interface. Developed user- and project-calendar synchronization for the Livelink OnTime module. Provided administrators with an HTML GUI for seeing discrepancies between the Livelink and OnTime user and project directories, and allowed the administrator to resynchronize the directories either in batch or by selecting individual users and projects.

Developed several features in the OnTime Web Edition, a web-based interface into OnTime calendaring. Including login persistence, calendar relationship maintenance, and a repackaging of the OnTime global directory GUI.Developed NDS, Bindery, and Vines directory browsing and user directory synchronization support in the OnTime 4.1 administration client.
