Strategic and Operational responsibilities for Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital - NPSR of $320M, 1400 employees and 130 employed primary care and specialty providers and Sentara Halifax - NPSR of $115M, 800 employees and 45 employed primary care and specialty provider. Responsibilities include growth, financial and quality outcomes, culture and patient care delivered to all patients and customers across all settings (hospitals, ASC, medical groups, nursing homes and long term care facilities).

Led a 301 acute bed ($230m in net revenue), 69-bed leased LTAC hospital-in-hospital and 14-bed leased hospice with 1,300+ professional staff and 300+ physicians in their success to provide exceptional and compassionate clinical care for and personal care of over 400,000 residents living in the Southwest area of DFW. As President, I focused on improving outcomes in quality of care, patient experience and operational performance in a responsible, reliable, and sustainable wayI am keenly aware of how quality, outcomes and patient experience require the hospital and medical staff to work together to serve our patients and community. Which is why, in addition to working to improve processes, I believe attracting and building the most talented team of professionals (employees and medical staff) along with removing obstacles to their success is imperative. Patient care rounding, employee forums, recognition and personal relationships with staff and physicians are what keep my team grounded, aware and accountable to a viable future and to the people who matter the most, the citizens of the communities we are charged to serve.

Led a 188 bed acute hospital ($85m in net revenue) DME retail store, Urgent Care Clinic, and a Community-based behavioral health center with a total of 720 employees and 72 medical staff members. Implemented a strategic plan producing multi-year service line growth in Oncology and Cardiology services, inpatient admissions and outpatient visits through an aggressive medical staff recruitment & development plan, Physician Hospital Organization and the creation of SEK Health Alliance hospital referral network. Developed a high performing team delivering exceptional employee engagement, a sincere focus on quality improvement with a 3-year financial turnaround from -2.4% to 7.5% operating margin.

Led a 25 bed acute hospital to critical access hospital conversion ($28m in net revenue) 2 rural health clinics and a Home Health service with a total of 220 employees and 32 medical staff members. Implemented a strategic plan with emphasis in medical staff recruitment in cardiology and orthopedics surgery. Opened a Sleep Center and developed numerous outpatient specialty clinics to reduce patient outmigration. Led efforts to receive the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care Award in quality and supported efforts to improve patient and physician engagement results to greater than the 75th percentile. Produced financial results over a 4-year period from -1.7% to 5% operating margin.
