My wife Andrea Lyn and I started Andrea Lyn Events, LLC in January of 2021. In a little over two years, Andrea Lyn Events has grown into a premier event planning firm in the Columbia, Missouri area and was nominated small business of the year in 2022 & 2023 by the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. At Andrea Lyn Events, I am responsible for business development and operations. I manage our marketing, staff, finances. and customer service complaints. Our marketing efforts are concentrated on social media, business club and social interactions and online advertisement including Google Ads and video promotion on YouTube. Utilizing MBTI and Enneagram amongst other tools, I serve as a growth coach for our staff and am responsible for the team dynamic in the office. Financially, I track the day-to-day cash flow and financial statements. I also serve as the final authority on all large financial decisions. If a difficult customer service situation develops, I step in to diffuse the situation and bring about the best possible resolution for all parties while protecting Andrea Lyn Events' interests.When I'm not serving in my direct capacity, I also moonlight as a photographer/ videographer, event staff and event dummy. My experience in photography and videography from journalism school has come in handy to help bolster our marketing efforts when a professional is not available or financially feasible. As the only male staff member, I have the privilege of serving as the muscle for our large events. I also serve as event staff member when we have large events or multiple events on the same day. And, as the only staff member without experience in the event industry, I can provide an outsider's perspective and help our team plan with event outsiders in mind.

I managed business operations relating to growing the Spine Center for the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute. This included developing and tracking analytical outcomes to justify future MuHealth investments into the spine center, customizing the spine center website and overseeing the development of marketing plans for the spine center. In addition, I was responsible for resolving patient complaints involving spine physicians, coordinating internal communications of several MuHealth departments relating to spine (Orthopaedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy) and preparing the agenda for and running the Executive Spine Center Meetings. Finally, I served as the main point of contact for the non-operative spine team. Some of my specific daily duties included coordinating each doctor's clinic/ meeting schedule, answering an average of 20-30 patient calls a day, drafting confidential patient letters and maintaining an electronic database of confidential patient information for each doctor.

I was an independent project manager for the Department of Orthopaedic surgery. I managed the department's website while guiding it through a complete redesign. I marketed Orthopaedic Physicians through print, digital media and events. I redesigned the Orthopaedic call center structure and implemented these changes. I also aided our medical education team by managing their legal paperwork and planning the resident and fellowship graduations in 2014.

I tutored one or more athletes per class. To help the students succeed, I developed individualized growth and learning plans for each student. While developing these plans, I meticulously tried to create healthy learning environments through personalized encouragement and motivation strategies. In the end, I was successful in raising each student's academic outcome in every class I tutored because I took the time to develop and encourage students to chase their academic goals. This job was truly a labor of love because I got to see my work pay off when students succeeded in the classroom.

I managed a team of students who analyzed the operations of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. Some of these operations included website design, search engine optimization (SEO), mobile optimization, email optimization and social media strategies. We presented our findings to the WT&G and gave many recommendations that helped the company make a significant amount of money.

I managed a total overhaul of the Missourian's analytics strategy. Prior to my arrival, the Missourian did not regularly meet to discuss key engagement metrics like value per visit, average session duration, page views and bounce rate. I designed a process to not only track these key metrics but also convinced the Board of Directors to add analytics to their weekly meeting agenda. While here, I also spearheaded a project that analyzed the Missourian's social media practices and how to best deploy different platforms to inform the public. These duties necessitated me making several reports to the Board of Directors of the Missourian.

I helped produce the sports show for CBS4 Denver. I worked two days a week and some of my duties included editing video in a time crunch, creating on-air graphics, timing a show, running a show from the booth, doing live Broncos training camp updates and test anchoring.

I helped Mile High Sports launch its new and expanded website by writing deadline stories. I would scour the news wire and write stories relating to local sports teams. The stories had to be high-quality, written on a "as fast as possible deadline" and were not copy-edited before going on the Internet.
