My role in the Career and Community Engagement Center is focused on connecting students with mentorship and networking resources, which play an important role in preparing students for a variety of post-graduate opportunities.

Part of a highly trained group of mental health and career professionals. As a career coach I provide collaborative, affirming coaching, helping clients identify and meet career goals. I work together with clients helping them to lead with their strengths as they navigate career changes or job searches.

The Center for Humanitarian Engagement (CHE) provides opportunities for students to make an impact through service-learning and volunteerism while meeting academic objectives. My role included providing mentorship and leadership to a team of student employees, leading campus and community volunteer efforts, and writing grant proposals. Additionally, I led service-learning efforts which included developing the community impact certificate program, which provides comprehensive educational and experiential learning for students interested in pursuing social impact in a deeper way.

I completed this practicum placement as part of my master of social work program. I supported students at Walla Walla University in various ways including case management and support groups as part of the campus behavioral intervention team. I also developed a campus food pantry for students experiencing food insecurity.

As a sourcing advisor, I was a member of a team supporting system-wide talent acquisition initiatives. My role involved providing sourcing strategy leadership and helping with especially difficult searches, particularly for clinical specialties and executive positions. Additionally, I worked with leaders to develop candidate pools and pipelines for future needs.

I participated in this project while transitioning into the role of sourcing advisor. This project constituted a system-wide transformation of processes and tools for various departments including talent acquisition and human resources. My contribution to the project was primarily in developing and implementing testing strategy for talent acquisition processes being developed for the Oracle HCM Cloud.

In the role of talent advisor I was the on-site recruitment resource for Sonora Regional Medical Center and its clinic system, while also serving as part of a regional talent acquisition team. I was responsible for full cycle recruitment of hospital employees at every level. This involved advocating on behalf of both hiring managers and candidates to find great people to provide essential services to the community. I was directly involved in lowering the average time-to-fill for our region by 27%, and I filled difficult-to-fill to positions in departments such as the clinical laboratory, pharmacy, and rehabilitation using creative sourcing and pipeline building

As a human resources and healthcare management intern, I had the valuable opportunity to learn from excellent healthcare leaders. I participated in various aspects of human resources including benefits administration, talent acquisition, and employee relations. Additionally, I took leadership of a project to develop a leadership presentation manual and mentoring program for new managers and leaders.
