Early in my career when I couldn’t decide exactly where I wanted to go, I decided I could choose how I got there. Put simply, it was to show up, work hard, and say yes to opportunity. After college, those rules led me to a legislative internship in Alabama. The work I put in as an intern began to open opportunities to work on political campaigns. I had never intended to work in politics but it grabbed my attention with the feeling of importance in the work I was doing, the community of people I was working with, and the variety of challenges that were being presented to me on a daily basis. While on the campaign trail in Middle TN a door was opened for me into the supply chain industry. I had no previous experience in this field but I showed up, worked hard, and said yes to the opportunity. I spent the next three years learning about food distribution and working with numerous national chain restaurants.Whether I have been aiming to get a local leader elected to public office or move a case of french fries across the country, I have always leaned upon my skills of creative problem solving, adaptability, calmness in high pressure environments, and ability to build personal relationships.
