Over 15 years of experience as a mechanical structures engineer. I began my engineering career developing expertise in product development through the use of finite element analysis as a structures engineering consultant. I became proficient at determining suitable analysis approaches, performing classical stress calculations, and relating the results to various structures. This analysis, often in conjunction with the acquisition of live data, was correlated with finite element models and used to drive design validation and improvement projects. This involved a strong concentration on finite element modeling, analysis, and documentation practices.The last several years I have worked for a company that specializes in the design and manufacture of air/gas/liquid purification and/or dehydration systems, primarily for the oil and gas industry. I function as a project engineer, with my primary focus being on the design and analysis of our ASME Sect VIII-1 pressure vessels and B31.3 compliant pressure piping systems. I'm also involved with the selection of on-skid components, such as filters, separators, coolers, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation, pressure relief devices, etc. I work directly with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to ensure compliance with internal and external project requirements.
