Since retirement, I have become very active in the Corvette Club of America, Inc which is the world’s first Corvette Club. The club was organized in 1956 and currently has over 200 members in the Nation's Capital Area. I edit the club's monthly newsletter. I worked on cleaning up state and federal registration and tax issues for the club and led the revision of the organization’s bylaws. In the process I gained extensive knowledge on the requirements for Federal Tax Exempt Organizations and Maryland Non-Profit charter requirements. The club supports a number of local charities including a hospice and a half-way house as well as an endowment for a mechanical engineering student award fund at the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland. I organized a 2012 fund raising effort that resulted in the CCA becoming a member of the One Acre Club of the National Corvette Museum's Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, KY. Through this effort the club was able to contribute more than sixteen thousand dollars to the National Corvette Museum. I also initiated the creation of a digital library to preserve the history of the club. The CCA was a founding member of the National Council of Corvette Clubs which is an organization of 275 Corvette clubs with more than 17,500 members.

After retiring from Texas Instruments in 2009, I continued my volunteer activities with the IEEE Signal Processing Society. I've been an IEEE member for over 30 years and I currently hold Lifetime Senior Member status. For nine years I was a member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society Education Technical Committee. During this time I served on the Conferences & Workshops Subcommittee and the Industrial Liaison and Interaction Subcommittee. I am currently an associate member of the IEEE SPEd Technical Committee.

I retired in Feb 2009 after 29 years with Texas Instruments and had the pleasure of being part of the team that developed TI’s Digital Signal Processing business from scratch.My last position was developing and teaching a four day customer workshop on TMS320C6000 Digital Signal Processor hardware and software performance optimization.For over twenty five years I provided customers with hardware and software applications engineering assistance for their DSP designs. I held management positions including Southeast Area DSP Field Applications Mgr and Military Products DSP Field Applications Mgr for the U.S. I participated in product definition and have two patents for multiprocessor communication.I was elected a Member Group Technical Staff (MGTS) in 1990 and a Senior Member Group Technical Staff (SMTS) in 1995.I was a frequent speaker at conferences and trade shows and was selected to provide presentations on DSP fundamentals at annual Financial Analyst meetings and internally for the Board of Directors.I am a Lifetime Senior Member of the IEEE and for nine years was a member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society’s Education Technical Committee.
