Jonathan Tower has been an early stage, cross-border venture capitalist for the past 22 years, having invested in more than 62 companies across three core investment themes: consumer (marketplaces, ecommerce enablement, digitally native brands), enterprise (software, services, infrastructure, storage, data orchestration) and frontier technologies (AI/ML, IoT, robotics, Fintech, etc). Jonathan's investments have resulted in more than $10 Billion in exits, including early bets in Jet.com (acquired by Walmart for $3.5 Billion), Dollar Shave Club (acquired by Unilever for $1 Billion), Freshly (acquired by Nestle for $1.5 Billion), IfOnly (acquired by Mastercard) MapR Technologies (acquired by HP), Qumulo (unicorn valuation), and many others. Jonathan's other notable investments include Hammerspace, Jeeves, Cart.com, Madison Reed, InsideView (acquired by Demandbase), Price.com, Zenplace, Joy, BillFloat, and many other companies that have gone on to become market leaders. Jonathan began his venture career with Gabriel Venture Partners and, more recently, was a Managing Director at TriplePoint Capital and a Managing Director at Hercules Capital. Previously, he was founding CEO at two successful software companies, an M&A investment banker in the technology group at Volpe, Brown & Whelan, and a management consultant with Accenture and Braxton Associates.Jonathan earned a double MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School and a bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley.Jonathan has been a frequent speaker at tech conferences and a contributor to The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The L.A.
