Community Advisors (CAs) work and live in residence buildings at the University of Calgary. As a CA, I planned regular events and connections for the community or floor I lived on. I was on call several times a month to respond to after hours concerns including safety issues, fire alarms, student emergencies and other resident issues. 2016-2017 (Cascade Hall)- Lived on a floor of 70 residents, the majority are at the U of C on international exchange - Worked in a team of 12 CAs to plan building-wide events and ensure building safety and security- As a returning staff member, I completed fall training along with new staff members, providing support and encouragment to co-workers- On call supporting 4 buildings and ~1000 residents2014-2015 (Cascade Hall - Scholars' Advantage)- I lived in a community of 20 high-achieving first year students, many of whom received large entrance scholarships with academic requirements. - Facilitated academic presentations and student social events- Connected regularly with each resident and supported them in their academic and personal lives- Worked in a team of 10 Community Advisors to plan building-wide events and ensure student safety and security2013-2014 (Rundle Hall)- Lived on a floor with approximately 50 first year students. - Planned educational and social events for my community, while promoting healthy lifestyle and academic success through passive programming - Addressed student wellness concerns and emergencies, acting as a first responder and escalating more serious concerns- Worked in a team of 8 Community Advisors to plan building-wide events and to ensure student safety and security

I worked at an engineering firm that focused on developing public and community infrastructure. As part of a two-man survey crew, I learned how to operate Total Station and GPS survey equipment. Our primary projects involved collecting TOPO survey data for volume calculations, taking readings for as-built drawings and providing grade measurements to construction crews. I worked in communities throughout southwestern Manitoba and parts of southeastern Saskatchewan for this position.
