CurrentI am a partner in the Land Use and Municipal Law Group. I have extensive (over 18 years) experience in all aspects of land use, zoning, and local government law practice, including zoning cases, Board of Adjustment variances, economic development incentives, land use litigation support, and a very wide variety of related matters. Prior to that, my background was primarily in commercial real estate and corporate practice. These are some of the projects I have worked on:• Handled (with primary responsibility) numerous contested zoning cases and variances, with a 90 percent-plus success rate.• Primary responsibility for successful passage of the first two form-based planned development districts in Dallas’s Trinity River Corridor.• Achieved significant height and density increases for several Uptown Dallas projects, including the recently-approved Park District development facing Klyde Warren Park.• Primary responsibility for securing approval of numerous urban, mixed-use, transit-oriented developments.• Primary responsibility for passage of first “new urbanist” planned development district in the City of Dallas (Capella Park, southwest Dallas).• Assisted The Real Estate Council Government Affairs Committee in reviewing, monitoring, and proposing amendments to the City of Dallas’s “form-based code” provisions.• Assisted with passage of the International Inland Port of Dallas planned development district.• Assisted with passage of recent mixed-use planned developments (Sylvan Thirty and Trinity Groves) in West Dallas.• Extensive experience leading contested public hearings and negotiations with interest groups.• I have represented clients ranging from some of the largest multifamily, retail, office, and industrial developers to smaller developers, corporate owners, private schools, churches, nonprofit organizations, and individuals. I have worked in almost every jurisdiction in North Central Texas.
