Jonathan Ware is Managing Director & Associate General Counsel in the Delta Air Lines Law Department, where he leads Delta’s Commercial Transactions and Privacy Teams and oversees Delta’s global patent and trademark portfolio. Jonathan and his team have supported his business partners in achieving a number of industry firsts, such as designing and launching the first curb-to-gate biometric boarding experience in the US, licensing technology for billion-dollar fleets of computer-enabled aircraft, driving operational efficiency by deploying cutting-edge predictive maintenance technologies, implementing enhanced threat-detection capabilities to expedite customer clearance through airport security, and patenting innovations that better enable vehicles to operate autonomously on the airport tarmac.Jonathan holds a BA in German Literature, an MA in German Linguistics, and a JD from The University of Georgia. He is the immediate past president of Georgia Lawyers for the Arts (GLA), a nonprofit organization providing legal assistance and educational programming to artists and arts organizations, and he continues to serve on GLA’s advisory board. Jonathan enjoys practicing meditation, traveling internationally, and touring exemplary gardens with his husband, a highly sought-after residential landscape architect.
