Custom Traxx is a private partnership to which I was a consultant for nearly a decade; and became a full partner in 2009. Custom Traxx actively supports the streetcar modeler by supplying authentic detailed decal finishing sets, heralds, destination signs, and other markings for streetcars as they ran in most American and Canadian localities. Now we have expanded into a strategic partnership with Bowser Manufacturing (Montoursville, PA), Train Control Systems (Blooming Glen, PA), and AFFA Technologies (Shenzen, China) to design, manufacture, and distribute HO-scale Digital Command and Control capable, ready-to-run models of the PCC streetcars currently being operated on San Francisco’s historic Market Street Railway. Being a small company, I have many responsibilities as Director of Procurement, primarily in the area of vendor and strategic partner management, market research and media relations/publications, authoring product reviews, overseeing quality assurance testing, producing user and technical documentation, competitor strength/weakness analysis, project management and data analysis for forecasting, production, and general business purposes. I was asked to join Custom Traxx for both the skill set I provide and my interest in model railroading. I joined Custom Traxx because it is unique not only for the product lines we have developed, but for the business philosophy we practice. With the exception of my time at Compuware, I have always fit consulting work around other commitments and generally have limited business consulting to smaller organizations, but I have done engineering and research projects for several larger concerns.
