Key contributions: • Led a strategic review resulting in strict fiscal disciplines, a new development strategy and a major financial turnaround (2010-2012). TSM moved from $5M in revenues against a $7.5M budget in 2009 to a $21M budget and year-on-year surplus in 2018. • Significantly upgraded the board’s governance model and key policies and oversaw the successful recruitment of new directors representing key demographics and professional competencies.• Initiated the development of a fiscal policy guiding reserve and capital expenditure.• Oversaw the development and current implementation of a long-term, partnership- and community-asset-based strategy to impact poverty in Toronto.

A temporary role, leading a global non-profit focused on developing leaders on five continents.

Member of the international executive. Participated in the leadership and management of the organization’s global operations (eighteen country offices on four continents). Executed 40th anniversary strategic review and leadership succession planning process. Developed leadership development platforms, and actively participated in the leadership and senior management of AE South Africa. Designed, prototyped and launched the Ascent Leadership Training Course, based on best practise in adult-learning methodology, as ALDI’s flagship program, which grew 400% in three years. Shifted ALDI programming from a donor-funded to a fee-based model with tiered subsidies. Recruited leaders from the business, government and civic sectors, and consistently achieved proportional ethnic and equal gender representation

Developed leadership development platforms, and actively participated in the leadership and senior management of African Enterprise South Africa.

Chief liaison for the international CEO in executive functions and political mediation efforts. Coordinated and assisted in extremely sensitive back-room negotiations and co-facilitated dialogue encounters in areas of violent political conflict in South Africa, against a backdrop of reprisal killings and assassinations. Handled media interviews. Led teams in preparing and facilitating city-wide multi-stakeholder dialogue and strategy processes for business, government and community leaders from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
