I was a senior designer at the Nous Group in Melbourne specializing in public service design and transformation. I led strategic, service, and digital design projects to transform user and employee experiences across all three tiers of government. Notable projects included a strategic redesign of the planning system with the Dept. of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, a future workplace design with the Dept. of Premier and Cabinet, and the development of an innovative service and operating model for a new court building in regional Victoria. Most notably, I led and coached multiple teams on a service design project to help councils throughout Victoria improve their approvals process for small business owners. As the lead designer, I created the end-to-end program approach and designed several service and digital solutions. The project led to a 73% reduction in the time it takes a small business to receive multiple permits. The project was a finalist at the 2018 IPAA Victoria Leadership Awards, in the human-centred service delivery category.I am also passionate about design work that delivers social innovation and impact and I worked with a number of public bodies and not-for-profits to achive this. Notable clients include the University of Melbourne, the University of Technology Sydney, Australia Post and the Transport Accident Commission; Kids Under Cover, Whitelion and Vision Australia amongst others.

While at FutureGov, I worked on design strategy, service design, and digital execution projects for the Department of Justice and Community Safety Victoria, the Magistrates Court of Victoria, the NSW Department of Family and Community Services and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Philippines.I was also the Australian product manager of Casserole Club, a digital, micro-volunteering platform that enables cooks to share meals with older, socially isolated members of the community; and Patchwork; a smart, secure digital app designed to support better communication and collaboration between practitioners across the public sector. Patchwork was a 2016 Good Design Award winner for social innovation.

Completed three separate placements on the news planning desk, Sky News: Radio and out on location.Achievements:• Conducted extensive planning and research on a special report entitled ‘The Economic Cycle’ which resulted in series of packages presented by Dermot Murnaghan who, on his bike, interviewed a wide range of businesses and individuals around the country on the effects of the 2008 financial crisis.• Wrote news items for the Sky Radio’s two minute national and international news bulletin on the hour.• Assisted production teams and shadowed reporters and on a number of reports. These included an interview with William Hague, the QE2’s last voyage, Prime Ministers’ questions and trials at the Royal Courts of Justice and Old Bailey.
