Dr. Jonathan Z. Queen, D.Min.His story is amazing and his passion to change the world is undeniable. Reverend, Doctor, Jonathan Z. Queen, the oldest of six children, was raised in an impoverished neighborhood in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania by a struggling, single mother. Jonathan spent his youth and young adulthood engaged in a drug-dealing, criminal lifestyle. At the age of 23, Jonathan was arrested for the third time, labeled a Career-Criminal and sentenced to 10 years in Federal Prison. It was while incarcerated that Jonathan accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and accepted the mission to be a leader who serves and a servant who leads.Jonathan received his call to be a Minister of the Gospel in March of 2009, while walking as a deacon-elect. He preached his first sermon on August 22, 2009, and was licensed a Minister of the Gospel on that day by First Baptist Church of Lexington, Virginia. In 2010, Minister Jonathan Queen joined the Shiloh Baptist Church of York, Pennsylvania as an Associate Minister and Youth Leader and was ordained Reverend Jonathan Queen on March 30, 2014.Rev. Jonathan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Bible and Christian Ministry from Lancaster Bible College in 2011 and received his Master of Divinity Degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary in May of 2015. In March of 2024, Jonathan successfully defended his doctoral dissertation and earned his Doctor of Ministry from Regent University.Today, Dr. Jonathan Queen serves as an Associate Pastor and Department Head Director for the Children and Youth Ministries of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden International under Senior Pastor John K. Jenkins, Sr.Rev. Dr. Queen is also an award-winning author of 6 books, a motivational speaker, a parenting specialist, At-Risk youth counselor, facilitator, and expert in the fields of Mentoring and Reentry. In 2021, Dr. Jonathan and his wife, Reverend Lenia Queen launched New Mindz Ministries, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides education, mentoring, life skills training and resources for at risk youth/adults and returning citizens. Rev. Dr. Jonathan Queen is married to his best friend and soul mate, Rev. Lenia Queen M.A., NCC, LCPC. They live in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and have six adult children and nine grandchildren.
