► Led a team ranging from 4 to 7 engineers responsible for developing firmware for inverters used in solar power applications• Inverters utilized a multi-core, 32-bit, floating-point MCU running TI RTOS on their control board.• The control board interfaced with a separate Linux-based communications board.► Established new processes for the team, incorporating SDLC processes and improving the effectiveness of Scrum• This effort was essential for ensuring a successful & on-time launch of the company's 1000-volt string inverter product.► Established and ensured adherence to better source code management practices► Laid the groundwork for a successful launch of a 1500-volt string inverter shortly after the launch of the 1000-volt product► Participated directly in coordinating the end-of-line ATE system and inverter firmware to prepare for production launch► Directly developed several algorithms requiring innovative & outside-the-box thinking• Developed an arc fault detection algorithm prior to product launch in order to avoid nuisance trips• Developed a new island detection algorithm suitable for systems with many inverters operating on the same bus

► Led a team of up to 5 engineers in implementing new Smart Grid features into a legacy inverter product with 16-bit, fixed-point DSP► Rewrote custom kernel (scheduler) to improve processing capacity► Refactored all voltage sensing board code to incorporate asymmetric voltage tracking, improve frequency precision and to better synchronize with the main board to prevent oscillation► Refactored inner current control loop to reduce processor utilization & make the controls more robust during transients► Developed an observer to improve estimation output current which was not measured directly► Refactored several state machines to remove complex interdependencies and improve recovery time► Planned and directed testing at two offsite high-power test labs (Clemson DEIC in North Charleston, SC & NREL in Golden, CO)► Achieved product compliance to California Rule 21 using UL1741 SB and for the Brazil market

► Developed a database used for documenting the status of component updates in a nuclear power plant► Reviewed thousands of technical evaluation reports, digital work records, drawings and electronic records to make sure that updates to the plant were properly documented• This resulted in several findings including one finding in a safety-critical system• Led a small group of consultants in this process. This included establishing a procedure and checklist for reviewing reports thoroughly.
